What is Phishing?

Phishing is an attack that aims to steal sensitive information by tricking individuals into revealing their personal data. This can include passwords, bank accounts, 2FA codes, private wallet keys, and other important information. Criminals use various techniques to carry out phishing attacks, such as:

  • Sending fake emails or text messages claiming to be from official sources

  • Creating fake websites

  • Developing counterfeit apps

  • Impersonating official staff on social media

  • Posting false event links on social media

Prevention tips:

  1. Preventing Phishing:

  2. Use a secure browser like Google Chrome, which can detect and warn users of high-risk or unsafe phishing websites.

  3. Verify the validity of SSL certificates and domain names before accessing a website. Make sure the domain name is the official BIT domain name (www.bit.com).

  4. Use strong passwords and update them regularly.

  5. Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for extra security.

  6. Install security plugins like PeckShieldAlert, Wallet Guard, and Netcraft on your browser.

  7. Keep anti-virus software up to date on your computer.
